Birding Hotspot at Langkawi Island - Part 4

Kisap to look for Black Hooded Oriole
Rows of nicely planted rubber trees you would notice as you drive along Mukim Kisap. This place is highly populated by the Indian communities who was 1st brought into Malaya as rubber-taper. It was a hard job then being a rubber tapper where they are normally daily rated. Raining they could not go to work. Now due to the advancement of our country with many job opening Rubber tappers are scarce. Most of them hold a second jobs.

To look for the Black-Hooded Oriole just go into those slip road with both sides are rubber plantations and some promising place at Kisap. Scan through all the Yellow looking bird to hunt for the one..

Due to migrant season this place also provide a temporay shelter for a few migrant species.
We saw a small flock of them.
While waiting for more birds to arrive this beetle caught my attention.

A very small patch of forest provide a temporay shelter for this bird.

Ashy Drongo are also plentiful during migrant season.

Hahh... this is the Black-Hooded Oriole where most of people in this trip miss this..

While waiting to have more glimpse of the Black-Hooded Oriole. This butterfly caught my attention.
